A 5-minute walk from Osaka Station, the shrine is located on Ohatsutenjin-dori Shopping Street, which is lined with many izakayas. The official name is Tsuyu no Tenjinja.
It became famous as the setting for the puppet theater "Sonezaki Shinju" by Monzaemon Chikamatsu in the Edo period. From the name of the heroine Ohatsu, Tsuyuten Shrine is commonly known as "Ohatsu Tenjin".
Today, it is popular as a place where the strong love between Ohatsu and Tokubei remains, and as a power spot for marriage, "Lovers' Sanctuary."
